Hello Friends of Dahabiya Abundance
I am Michelle Leske. I host group Goddess Tours to Egypt and I have been a Friend of Dahabiya Abundance since March 2018, when I had the great pleasure of being a passenger on this beautiful boat for the first time. It was honestly a dream come true.
My first journey to Egypt was in 2011, and I was on one of the big Nile cruisers. I spotted a couple of Dahabiyas on the river and was fascinated. I started making enquiries, and thought that I would never fulfil my dream of one day sailing on a Dayabiya because the cost was absolutely astronomical. Little did I know that a few years later, my dream would actually come true, and I would have the great honour of not only being a passenger on a Dahabiya, but one of the best Dahabiyas in Egypt and I got to stay in the beautiful suite. I felt like Cleopatra.
My relationship with Captain Mohamed and Johanna has grown from one of business partners, to become really special friends. I have taken 5 groups on the Dahabiya Abundance now and each time I return, and start walking up the stairs to the deck of the boat, my heart knows, I am Home!
The beauty of sailing on a Dahabiya, rather than a massive cruise ship, is that you get to see places that the regular tourist does not get to see. The Quarries at Gebel Silsila and the Temple of Amenhotep III at El Kab are just 2 such places. Of course, Captain Mohamed will oblige you if you wish to stop for a swim in the Nile, or go for a walk through one of the many villages dotting the Nile.
A cruise on the Dahabiya Abundance is truly a special gift to yourself. A once in a lifetime experience. The food is out of this world, fresh and delicious, and you can request your favourites too! There is plenty of time to relax, and watch the Nile go by, whilst you are sailing to the next Temple.
